I use one of these blushes as my lipstick too…
Whether you want to warm up your skin or just to add subtle glow on the cheek, blushes have become an essential in your makeup bag. Since summer has arrived, here are the perfect blushes you ought to try now.
TheBalm Instain Blush in Swiss Dot ($22 for 0.23 oz)- This matte-peach blush is so pigmented you only need a gentle swirl on the product. Very soft to the touch, this powder formula blends into the skin like a cream. I find it best to apply with a powder brush instead of blush brush to avoid blotchy result and this ‘stains’ my skin for a good 8 hours.
Dior DiorBlush Cheek Creme in 971 Pareo ($37 for 0.24 oz)- This hot pink shade may appear bold on the jar, but once I spread it evenly it gives me this natural pinched-cheek look that I love. The texture is, smooth, non-greasy and spongey. In the summer especially, cream blush is a life-saver. I usually wear this with a simple eye makeup and dab this on my lips too. One tip you can do to make sure your makeup doesn’t melt from the heat, is to apply cream blush before powder foundation, and then layer it over with powder blush of a similar shade. Your blush will stay on all-day!
Nars Blush in Orgasm ($30 for 0.16oz)- This is Nars’ cult product. Every brand has tried to mimic the shade at one point or another. If you’re a makeup beginner, Nars Orgasm is probably one of the makeup products listed in your “Makeup Must-Have” list, along with those Naked palletes. This pink-peachy shimmer blush gives me that rosy, almost wet, summer glow. I find that it a nice matte contour, such as Bahama Mama really accentuates this blush.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Blissful ($28 for 0.2 oz)- This blush is perfect for ladies who work in the office. The matte mauve shade is not overpowering and versatile. You can wear bright office outfits with this or when you’re feeling like all-black outfits, this blush still makes you look professional. Also, it is very long-wearing. It lasts 10 hours on me when I was running errands. Imagine the staying power you will have if you stay in the air-conditioned setting.
Elf Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder in Antiqua ($3 for 0.28 oz)- It is a cool Barbie-pink blush with specks of glitter. This would look stunning when you wear it with smokey eyes and soft-pink lips on a romantic evening. Elf products are so affordable and some of them have great quality, like this one. I suggest if you are new to makeup and want to try different colors, get your hands on Elf!
Mac Melba Powder Blush ($22 for 0.21 oz)- This is the perfect blush when you want to do the no-makeup makeup look. The soft coral-tan shade gives me this natural flush on the cheek. I feel like this would suit many different skin tone as the fair-skinned can use it as a light bronzer, and darker-skinned ladies can use this as a gorgeous highlighter. I love to use the blush as crease eyeshadow too. This versatile product is one of my all-year-round favourite blushes.
